In September 2012, I am going on a little bike ride. My son, Chris, will be riding with me, along with several other participants. We will leave Astoria Oregon on Sept 2 and arrive in Newport Beach California on Sept 24, pedaling 1400 miles. The ride is organized by America By Bicycle (ABB), and their crew will provide daily SAG support and transporting of luggage to the next hotel.
It will be a very scenic ride and I will try to take photographs to share with you along the way. You can visit my journal page for a daily description of the ride and a few supporting pictures. Addition pictures will be available on the gallery page of my website.
The Journal page will show you the most recent post. If you click on its title, the post will display in a separate page and allow comments and navigation to previous posts. From the journal page you can also select a particular date on the calendar to view its post. There are also statistic summaries and links to recent posts and related websites.
Cycling statistics will be captured with a Garmin bike computer, and you will see a summary of those in the posts and in the sidebar. For those who care to see the cycling details, a link in the summary will bring you to the ConnectGarmin website to see more. The map view can be expanded and you can zoom into the satellite view to see the terrain we cycled. That feature is amazing and I hope you check it out.
Postscript: This adventure has been completed. Go to the Aug 31, 2012 journal entry to read from the beginning.
